Inn at Honey Run

After a week or more of freezing temperatures, we had a beautiful Saturday. We decided to go to one of my favorite places, the Inn at Honey Run. Of course, we got there just at lunch time, due to my husband's perfect planning.
It was wonderful to see the sun and blue sky. Some of the rooms at the Inn, Honeycombs, are built underground. Someday, when we have several hundred extra dollars to throw away, we'll have to stay overnight. Thankfully, it's only a 45 minute drive from home!

Spring is on the way!

As we drove to church this morning, I was going to take a picture of the outdoor thermometer, but it was too cold to stop! If you've ever seen the movie Fargo, that's how people look today; faces covered with scarves and wearing hoodies. Just before the holidays, we added this little gas stove to our TV room. Since that part of the house is an add-on, it tends to be just a little cool when the temperature is -0. Thankfully, we know this will only last a short time. Spring will be here before we know it!

A day in Ashland with Jessie

My niece, Jessie is going to graduate school in Ashland, Ohio, just an hour away from us. Yesterday was a beautiful (cold, but beautiful) day, so some of us went over to see her new apartment and to visit the school.

Saturday in Amish Country

Saturday was beautiful. After a long dreary week of gray skies, we woke to sunshine. We took a drive to one of our
favorite Amish towns, Baltic. We had a delicious lunch at Millers, the local restaurant. If you look closely through the gazebo, you can see a horse and buggy parked with all the cars.

A dream come true

Steve surprised Rick with tickets to a Cleveland Browns game. They dressed in lots of layers. The stadium is right on Lake Erie and the wind really blows. These are just some fun pictures of the day.

Dinner at the Hartville Kitchen

After spending days working in the kitchen, it was fun going to the Hartville Kitchen where someone else was doing the cooking. Deana and Bill met us there, then we went home for a game of Hand 'N Foot.

Everyone must have been good...Santa arrived. Mom and Dad came over for brunch and then we opened gifts with the kids. The adults waited till evening after dinner to open gifts. Deana and her family came over. We had a great time. These are some pictures of our holiday.
