California or Bust!

I leave tonight for a visit to California. The train leaves Cleveland at 3:35 AM (a horrible time) and I will be in California Friday morning. I love the train; there is lots of time to read, reflect, rest and crochet. I'm going to see my 2 wonderful sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law and 5 of the dearest grandchildren on the planet.

Thursday Lunch

It's become my routine to get together with some of my family every Thursday. I go get my sister Deana, her daughter-in-law Patricia and her grandaughter Nina and we meet mom and dad at a restaurant of our choice; (usually Olive Garden) then go back to my folks house for an afternoon of games. It's something we've all learned to look forward to. Dad enjoys lunch with all of us, but once the games begin, he usually escapes to his "man cave" downstairs.

A Wii Evening

My sister Deana and her husband, Bill came over for an evening of bowling and tennis. This is very addicting. I ended up with a "Wii" injury.

February 12

If today is February 12, this must be the north pole!

We are under a severe weather alert today due to snow, so there is no school. Yesterday there was no school because it was 3 degrees. I looked down our road a little bit ago and saw a bunch of kids walking toward our house. Our house borders a golf course with some really good hills for sledding and snowboarding. Here are some pictures.

Oops

I was looking at some pictures of improvements we've made on our house since moving in. One of the first things we did was add new garage doors. They were fine when we moved in, but after one of us (I won't say which one of us) backed through it with our jeep, we found ourselves shopping around for new doors.

It's only February?

I know this is only February and Punxatawney Phil says we have 6 more weeks of winter...but I've had enough! I'm definitely ready for the next season. I was looking at some pictures of last spring anticipating what we have in store for us before too long.
